Project Overview
This historic ROC - IECDF (Republic of China International Economic Cooperation Development Fund) highway improvement project is located in northern Vietnam and upgrades the existing highway to a standard of arterial highway.
The existing highway was upgraded to a 2 - way, 4 - lane divided arterial road with a slow lane on both outer sides. The project road section is 15 kilometers in length of which there is a 10 kilometer long new alignment to serve as a bypass of Haiduong City. The remaining 5 kilometers was widened to 23 meters along the existing road.
A new highway bridge of 150 meters in length was built across the railway and two other new bridges with respective lengths of 132 meters and 491 meters across the rivers. The total bridge length is 773 meters and total culvert length is 1,855 meters.
Services provided for the feasibility study included:

investigation and study of traffic, road alignments, structures, hydrology and soil and materials, and the

economic and financial analysis.
After completing the feasibility studies, CECI carried out the engineering design and construction supervision services for the project.
