Project Overview
The Sanying Line will be operated by New Taipei City Government and is a Medium Capacity Transit (MCT) system with steel rail and steel wheels starting from the Dingpu Station of the Taipei Metro Blue Line and traveling through the Sanxia and Yingge Districts of New Taipei City before ending at a terminus connecting to the future Taoyuan Metro Green Line.
The line forms a transit circle by inter-connecting with the Taipei Metro Blue Line currently in operation as well as the future Taoyuan Metro Green Line currently under construction.
This light metro line has an overall length of approximately 14.29 kilometers and consists of 12 elevated stations, one maintenance depot and two Bulk Supply Substations (BSS).
While adopting elevated structures for the entire route, the alignment inclines upward in the direction from Tucheng to Yingge with a maximum gradient of 4.64%.
In addition to the typical elevated viaduct structure and elevated stations, there are eight special types of bridges, two for traversing National Freeway No. 3, two crossing over Taiwan Railways and four river-crossing bridges.
The depot facilities cover an area of approximately 12.47 hectares and include
-
the maintenance workshop,
-
train stabling space,
-
Administration Center,
-
flood detention pond and greenery space
This project adopts the turnkey method of construction in which CECI has carried out the Basic Design for the project works, and is now overseeing the line's construction while providing Professional Construction Management (PCM) services.
