Project Overview

The Southern Taiwan Science Park continued the momentum and groundbreaking success of the pioneering Hsinchu Science Park project and was established at two separate locations in southern Taiwan -- the Tainan Science Park and the Kaohsiung Science Park.

The site of the Tainan Science Park was originally farmland belonging to the Taiwan Sugar Company and covers an area of 1,043 hectares. It is the largest park development of Taiwan's science parks and is principally concerned with fostering optoelectronics, integrated circuits, precision machinery, biotechnology and green energy industries.

CECI's scope for this particular project comprised the design and construction supervision for

  • roads and bridges,

  • drainage and flood protection,

  • water supply,

  • wastewater treatment plant (design capacity 90,000 CMD),

  • sewage collection system,

  • water discharge,

  • elevated water tower and underground water distribution pool,

  • illumination,

  • water detention pool,

  • parking,

  • landscape,

  • waste disposal, etc.

Further southward from Tainan, CECI also provided design and construction supervision services for building the Kaohsiung Science Park which is located on the border of Luzhu, Gangshan, and Yong’an Districts of Kaohsiung and covers an area of 571 hectares. Apart from the similar core emphasis on optoelectronics and precision machinery, the park also has a special focus on biotech medical devices.
