Project Overview

Taipei's MacArthur No. 1 Bridge is a vital transportation node interlinking the Civic Boulevard East-West Expressway to the west, the Huandong Boulevard Expressway to the east, and the Tiding Boulevard Expressway to the north.

 

This impressive structure is the first single rib double-decker steel arch bridge in Taiwan and features a Lohse Type Arch Bridge in the middle with Vierendeel trusses on either side.​ The arch of the bridge measures 30 meters high with a span of 170 meters.

The structure and design of this bridge are both international rarities and its decorative computerized lighting system offers viewers a colorful spectacle in the night time landscape.
