Project Overview
The Da Peng Bay Bridge is located where the Da Peng Bay National Scenic Area merges together with the sea of Pingtung County in southern Taiwan. It is an asymetric composite bridge that features a cable-stayed bridge with a single tower. The overall length of the bridge is 579 meters and it has a total of 13 spans grouped into 5 units as follows:
-
Units 1, 4 and 5 employ field-cast pre-stressed concrete box girders,
-
Unit 2 is the 155 meter long cable stayed bridge with a tower whose shape resembles a triangular sail that is catching the wind.
-
Unit 3 is a 40 meter moveable steel box girder, the nation's first moveable bridge, allowing large yachts and sailboats to pass through.
Since its completion in 2011, the bridge has become Da Peng Bay's most visible landmark for visitors to this scenic and recreational area.
